The Conway hall humanist centre is an interesting and unusual place. Founded in 1929 by the South Place Ethical Society, it's a real hang out for left wing liberal types. The venue was set up to provide a space for promoting ideas of equality, fraternity and social justice. But these days a lot more besides goes on there.
I've done three talks at Conway hall now. The first in 2002, was in a really small speaking space that had the atmosphere of a school classroom. This was around the time that I first started public speaking. I remember at that talk, only 10 people or so showed up. I gave an enthusiastic and energetic presentation that was generally well received. However during the talk, baby who was present vomited all over the floor and I recall there was this schizophrenic lady who kept heckling for a while. But she quieted down and we became friends afterwards. It's funny how the more troublesome episodes in our lives also form some of our most cherished memories. Below are photographs of some more recent talks that I have done at Conway hall in one of the bigger speaking rooms
The Festival of Life 2008 at Conway Hall
The two pictures above are of a talk I did for the Festival of Life Organization in September 27th 2008. This was an exciting and dramatic performance which went down a treat judging from the reaction of the audience and the feedback I got relating to the later. This was 7th! talk I've done for the Festival of Life Raw Foodies of London. A great crowd and people who really resonate with the message that 'Everyone is God and the Prophecies are Now'. In this talk I focused quite a lot on 2012 and explored the possibilities. Then I should how the truth will set you free and save the World!
The Festival of Life 2005 at Conway Hall
The two pictures above are of a talk I did for the Festival of Life organization in the Autumn of 2005. The exact date was September 11th, so I decided to talk a lot about conspiracy theories showing how mystical and prophetic ideas can cast light on what's going on in the World today.
The Festival of Life 2004 at Conway Hall
The two pictures immediately above are of a talk I gave at Conway hall for the festival of life organization, who held a gathering there in the Autumn of 2004. It was busy during the day so could only do my presentation towards the end the event when most of the people had gone home. None the less I had a good time and it's great to great the opportunity to expose my ideas to a new audience. Also when you're giving a talk to an audience who have never heard you before, one has the freedom to pack into the talk all of ones tried and tested material.
